Hammocks and swing seats

We all know hammocks are fun - if we can get into them and out of them, that is - but did you know they also have health benefits?

Here's a short breakdown of the various health benefits one can gain from owning a hammock or a swing chair.

Ease Back and Neck Pain

Hammocks and swing seats can reduce your physical stress, and even more than this, the benefits are cumulative, which means the more you use them, the better your neck and back will feel

This is because lying in a hammock perpendicularly can help relieve some of the pressure your muscles are normally under. The hammock adjusts to your weight and build and yet provides support to the body by removing pressure points. This allows the muscles to relax and allows the blood to flow to all body parts, thus allowing the body to relax and heal. It helps reduce all the pain in your back.

Sleep and Stress Relief

A hammock or swing seat will help calm and relax your body. If you drowse in a swinging seat, you will wake up energised, and refreshed. This, of course, is why we use cradles for babies, so why shouldn't grown ups have the benefits too?

In Pregnancy and After

Some pregnant women successfully relieve their prenatal pains by using hammocks for rest, relaxation and sleep. Small babies who don't sleep well in the day are often soothed by sleeping on their mother's shoulder as she rocks in a hammock or swing seat.
